Community

Holy Trinity is committed to the Great Commandment …MAKE DISCIPLES.  “The disciple is one who, intent upon becoming Christ-like and so dwelling in his “faith and practice”, systematically and progressively rearranges his affairs to that end.” (Dallas Willard) This is the essence of what we want to be as a community.  We want to grow together as a band of disciples. Holy Trinity includes Sunday School, Life Groups, Bible Studies and Call to Discipleship as means to becoming a community of disciples .

Sunday School

Sunday School meets each Sunday morning at 9am for all ages.  The focus of Sunday School is to take a book of the Bible and work through that book to understand its message and meaning for us. The study of a given book may take multiple semesters or even more than a year depending on the book. We use a conversational and relational format where it is safe to ask questions and to not know all the answers.

Life Groups

A core value for us at Holy Trinity is to grow in deep relationship with God and each other. We gather in homes with 6-10 other believers which we call Life Groups.  This is more than a name, as we believe that God has called us to “do life together”. 

During our discussions, we seek to understand and apply the  truth of God's Word, to share our lives with each other, to encourage one another in our relationship with God and each other and lift one another up in prayer.  In addition, Life Groups seek to find ways to do mission together. Life Groups meet weekly in the Fall and Spring and then meet less frequently for fellowship or mission in the Summer.

It is so exciting to be a participant in the body of Christ, living out Acts 2:42 in life Groups at HT.  We begin with sharing a meal [or dessert] together ("the breaking of bread"), then reading & studying God's Word together ("the apostles' teaching"), discipling & encouraging one another ("fellowship"), and ending with prayer for each other ("...and prayer").  What a privilege it is to grow with other believers in the grace and knowledge of our Savior & Lord, Jesus Christ!"  -Claire

Bible Studies

The goal of all our Bible Studies is to progressively rearrange our affairs, in submission to the Scripture, so that we become more and more like Christ.  Bible Studies are topical and short-term studies that seek to apply Scriptural answers to life’s tough questions.

Call to Discipleship

An exciting area of ministry for Holy Trinity’s women is our offering of the “Call To Discipleship” Bible Study. The study focuses on five important parts of discipleship: worship, teaching of God’s Word, journaling, small groups and prayer. Over the past nine years several hundred women from the Jackson area have taken part in this two year study.   The experience of participating in and facilitating the “Call To Discipleship” has become a part of the DNA of Holy Trinity’s women.
